Although my experience in the beginning with Public Storage was great, over the last year it has gone down hill. My storage unit basically flooded, due to damage in the roof of the unit, causing thousands of dollars in damage and the need to throw away an entire dumpster of stuff (memories, decorations, furniture, etc). Public Storage refuses to take any responsibility for the damage (and unfortunately my renters insurance won't cover it either). I am not sure how long it had been flooding/raining in the unit, but long enough to cause mold and mildew. They moved me to a new unit. Recently I decided to move out and found it unfortunate that they do not give you a refund for moving out early. As I drove my final drive out, I noticed how under kept the property is. Downspouts missing (the entire driveway outside of my unit is covered in ice, as the downspout is missing next to my door), there are rusted out parts of doors/the middle in-between doors (not my unit, just saw on property). If they are going to keep renting,and raising the rent, then please actually take care if the property.
