Outrageous insurance costs not told about in advance was a dissappointment.
I got a storage unit from Public storage the other day after I had searched on the internet for a place. The price seemed good so I called and went to see the unit and agreed to rent it. Then when we got back to the office I was told that insurance on our belongings was mandatory. Not only was it mandatory it was what I would say very over-priced. To pay $11 a month to cover the loss of my belongings and to have that added to my bill every month was I thought outrageous. Not to mention that when I looked at the unit and agreed to rent it, the agent told me to go ahead and put my lock on it... knowing that the insurance hammer was going to fall and basically I had no choice but to pay the piper so to speak to get my lock back. I don't know how long I'll rent from here...but the insurance costs might be the reason I go to another facility. It was the deception that I didn't like... and the agent seemed to have no problem with it. Honesty is all I ask... and honesty, regrettably was not what Public Storage gave me.
