I provided the exact dimensions of my food truck before renting a unit. Even though they knew the size would not match any of their available units, they still tried to rent me the space. When my food truck was delivered from China to the storage address, we discovered that all the units have the same height, and my truck does not fit. This could have been clarified in advance. The management was very unprofessional throughout the process and showed zero customer service or willingness to take responsibility. I would not recommend this facility to anyone with large or specialty storage needs

am the lawful renter of a storage unit at Public Storage in Nashville, Tennessee. I am current on all rent and fees and am not in default under the rental agreement. Despite this, I was denied access to my rented storage unit on December 28, 2025, and again on January 3, 2026. The stated reason for denial was that the facility’s electronic gate was “broken.” As a result, I have been unable to access or retrieve my personal property. Under the Tennessee Self-Service Storage Facility Act (Tenn. Code Ann. Title 66, Chapter 31), a self-service storage facility is defined as property rented for the storage of personal property to which the occupant is to have access. Tennessee law permits denial of access only in limited circumstances, primarily for nonpayment of rent or enforcement of a statutory lien. Neither circumstance applies here. Denial of access due solely to facility equipment failure constitutes a breach of the rental agreement and an unreasonable deprivation of access to personal property. The obligation to maintain operational access systems rests with the facility, not the tenant. Accordingly, I hereby demand immediate access to my storage unit by restoration of the gate, provision of escorted or manual access, or issuance of alternative access credentials. I further demand written confirmation within forty-eight (48) hours detailing the corrective actions taken. If access continues to be denied, I will pursue all available remedies, including claims for breach of contract, loss of use, and applicable consumer protection violations under Tennessee law.
