Outstanding customer service and support I'm working 4200 miles away from the storage area and I have my truck parked in a parking spot I contacted the office and asked the condition of the truck and if tire's have air and not flat. This place advertises “climate controlled storage,” so we rented a small unit to store my daughter’s dorm furnishings over the summer (May - August). When we went to retrieve the things on Labor Day weekend, everything that we had not sealed in bags was covered in mold and mildew. (See pictures) When I spoke to the manager (Troy) about this, he pointed out that I had declined insurance on the rental. He was right. I had not purchased the insurance. Why would we need insurance for relatively inexpensive belongings for a short period when they are secured in a climate-controlled environment? When I said this to him, Troy explained to me that the company distinguishes between “climate controlled” and “humidity controlled” spaces. I laughed out loud. If “climate control” doesn’t include control for humidity, then what in the world does it include?? Their representation of the service they provide is called MISPREPRESENTATION in advertising, at best—and FRAUD at worst. A call from some manager in an office somewhere else called to discuss my “case,” and she repeated the same absurd lines about my declining insurance and the fact that they had “a very humid summer in Connecticut.” Look at the pictures. Do not rent any unit at this facility if you expect anything other than a tin roof over your belongings. This isn’t about the cost of replacing these items (total of about $125). I just cannot abide this kind of shady business practice.
