We’ve rented here for years. We garage our small RV here. This place is under new management or owners now. Escalated fees I’m fine with. What I’m not OK with is having no access to our vehicle because they rented a spot right outside our garage to a supersize pontoon looking lunch truck. We can’t get our vehicle out of our garage now. We asked that they move us or move the vehicle so we can get out. There answer is that they have the right to rent space out and that we should “foot the bill” hire a truck to move this lunch truck because they “think” the owner is out of state. They persistently talk about “We have the right to rent space however we like” They told us it is our problem not theirs. We are literally HOSTAGES here. We have to pay monthly $250 for no access to our property. If anyone has ideas to resolve this please reach out to me. I know there are news exposes around Orlando and these people need to be exposed. I’ll be finding out exactly who owns this place and whether or not they know how we have been treated. UPDATE Told by the corporate office that Sara Rios handles this particular store. Emailed corporate office with pictures. 2/21- we were told this vehicle would be moved this morning so we could access our vehicle and at least use the last week of vacation we have left. We called at 10:30 am and we are told it has not been moved. “ We will call you when it is” Sitting, waiting stilll…it is now 7 pm and no updates. We are know canceling our vacation for the second time! Seems taking 2 weeks off of our job to use our vehicle is not working out for us. Still HOSTAGES over here at Smart Stop Self Storage in Longwood.

I would STRONGLY encourage anyone considering this storage facility to read the fine print and monitor their billing very closely. When I initially signed up, the advertised price for my small unit was one amount (screenshots provided) but within a short period of time, my monthly charges have more than doubled and they will continue to increase. What’s most frustrating is the lack of transparency, making the true cost much higher than what customers are led to expect when signing up. Another concern is the frequent ownership or management changes (3 name changes in 1 year). It feels like every time there’s a transition, pricing structures and fees shift again, making it very difficult to have any consistency or predictability in what you’re paying. From a customer perspective, it comes across as a facade and a way to reset pricing and pass along higher costs. On top of all the fees, there appears to be little to no pest control. Over the past few months the bug problem has noticeably increased, including seeing roaches during the DAYTIME, which is unacceptable for a storage facility. Here is a picture from just this weekend after they said there is pest control. If you choose to rent here, just be aware that the introductory rate will NOT reflect what you’ll actually pay long-term. When I called to discuss pricing and ask if there were any discounts available, the customer service was very disappointing and not helpful at all, talked over and provided no resolution other than to move, which I will definitely be moving out and letting the people I previously recommended know that they should consider doing the same.

Elijah was extremely helpful and took his time to not only answer all of my questions, but also give me a full tour of the facility to make sure I felt comfortable and had no doubts. John was also very friendly — I met him during the tour and he was just as welcoming. I’m looking forward to booking storage with them soon!
