Betty and Dawn were totally awesome today! I rented a storage unit as my family and I are going to be moving. These ladies made the experience super simple! The process in the office was incredibly streamlined. Then, they took the time to walk us to our unit, make sure our gate code worked, and gave us the ins and outs of where to park to access the unit. Incredibly friendly and highly recommended! We have rented a lot of storage units. Smart stop is a very nice facility, however; 4 months after move-in, our rate jumped over 100%. 4 months. Other places have been 6-8 months and they always worked with us. Smart stop refused to match the rate to the online rate, but they did discount down a bit. The other units we’ve had always matched the online rate. Smart stop didn’t seem to care if we moved out. Their model seems to be to sell the units in order to re-sell very soon after. 4 months is crazy for a huge rate hike.
