Ann was excellent to work with. Very smooth process to view space first and then complete electronic sign up process the next day.
This location has been bought out a couple times in recent years and prior to that there was 24 hr access to the facility and prices were reasonable. Now pay just about as much for 2 units as a half-month’s rent payment on a home and no longer have 24 hr access to my units! Plus ever since MyPlace has taken over l, there has been twice I have received phone calls stating the lock (my own personal lock) has been cut off and they’ve recommended I check my unit for any missing items! These kind of places are such a rip off! I plan on getting my belongings out as soon as I possibly can and would never refer/recommend to anyone to put there items in a storage facility like these!
I have rented two units at the Monroe location for over a decade. Originally I rented with a different company and they were great. Someone was in the office everyday and their response time was spot on. Here comes MyPlace...OMG! My rental rates keep increasing but it's not because of updated security issues or additional on property staff. The manager is in a different state and maintenance may stop by weekly to look around. Today I receive a text that my unit was broken into and I should stop by and see what was stolen. I live in a different state. After 4 hours trying to speak to someone about what happened, I received a call from the property manager. She was rude and no empathy about what happened. She told me to have a local loved one to go see what was taken and that multiple units were robbed. I asked if they took everything and she didn't know nor did it seem like she even cared! She said when would try to get more information and call me back tomorrow and hung up on me. This is not okay. I paid a lot of money for storage. This place is awful and a rip off. Do yourself a favor and find another place to store your stuff. Maybe your items won't be stolen and they will know how to communicate and respond in a timely fashion. I'm so disappointed.
I’m renting a unit here and I like it just fine. However I noticed that nearly all the locks are the kind they use when no one has rented a unit yet. Does that mean that there’s maybe only 10 of us that rent here? I hope it doesn’t go out of business and take my stuff with it.
I rented a unit at the one in Monroe GA. Never again. There’s no people to communicate with. They don’t check your email. They take for ever to respond to anything if they even respond. Make sure you move out on the last day of your rent because they will take your money. They give you hella hassle when they do respond. This was the most frustrating experience with a storage in my life. I moved out. Glad I did. Oh and don’t forget the bugs and poor maintenance to the units. SMH I told them I moved out on the 12th. I was told to send it in an email along with unit number, date, name and account number, but never was told I had to send a picture. They made that an issue. I better not get charged for October. I made sure the unit was clean. They say the staff will look and confirm. What staff? Several emails later and still no confirmation of a closed account. Finally spoke to someone and still no confirmed email of closing the account.
