It's fine. I don't expect much from a storage facility other than to keep my stuff safe and dry, so I guess they technically meet my basic expectations. However, the online payment process is jacked -- I've been double charged more than once (I am aware of the options so its not user error) -- and when I tell them I would rather be refunded the $205 (also ridiculous and way up from CubeSmart price) than have the next month paid for weeks in advance of that due date I end up with confused representatives, scripted excuses, zero callbacks and no refund. Bass ackwards. And it's not the people, who are mostly just doing their jobs (or faking the effort, I can't tell ... definitely faking the empathy) but rather the clunky customer service protocol and a website payment portal designed in 2004.

We had a great experience. Overall, it is temperature controlled, and you can pull your vehicle in to unload things. It is not outside, and it has a security feature that requires a pin number to get in. Even though it changed owners a few times, the customer service was still great. Don't mind the mess! This is their largest size.

Manager and staff are super nice, and were very patient and friendly. When I signed my contract, they explained everything in detail about the cost and all the details about the unit., even making sure my lock fit and how to use the complicated one I chose. LOL They were super accommodating, even providing a cart that was not near the door initially (another renter had moved it across the building and hadn't returned it to its proper place.). The manager went quite a distance to find one and bring it straight to where I was unloading my things. Staff is very very friendly and takes their time. They don't hurry you they're not in a rush and they'll answer all your questions. I know I'm new to using a storage unit, but I think it's going to be a great experience. Im glad I chose Cubesmart On Pioneer Parkway in Peoria, Illinois. The ONLY negative thing I would share is nothing more than the fact that there aren't any electrical outlets nearby and no lighting near or in my unit. Other than that, A+++

Krista at the Peoria (Lake St. location) was wonderful to work with. She showed us multiple units and we were happy to secure a storage unit that met our needs. Regarding the facility… modern, clean and secure. Very happy.

I was thrilled when Affordable Family Storage made a return to Peoria earlier this year. I wasn’t happy with Cube Smart. Last month I received a notice that monthly rent was increasing from $72.00 ($59.00 + $13.00 renter’s insurance) to $79.00 starting June 1. Looked at my checking account this morning and saw a debit for $92.00! So I called the AFS home office and was told that the rent had increased to $79.00 + $13.00 insurance = $92.00. I understand everything has gone up in price, but to increase the rent $20.00 a month is usurious. Affordable Family Storage should remove the “affordable” from their title. I support small businesses whenever possible, but will now search for other storage options in the area. I imagine other AFS customers will do the same. Honestly, does not even deserve 1 star.
