The check in was very easy. Lorrana was very helpful. She took us to the unit before signing the contract. The place is clean, looks newer and well lit. The surrounding is safe. Both Lorrana & Andrew and the lady, one of the staff, are very friendly. We prepaid to lock in the rate. Assuming we can keep the rate and experience stay as pleasant, we are keeping the unit for many, many years! The only thing that I would say m, which is not on the onsite staff, is the advertisement/promo on the website is a bit misleading. Exclusions are not clear not even a fine print.

The storage facility is great - the business end of things is why I am giving a 1 star rating. I have been renting a space there for 3 months with no issues - the place is immaculate and has great hours. After the 3rd month I was sent a notice informing me that the rate would be more than doubling. When I signed up to rent here, I was not informed that the rate I was quoted could change at their will, nor was I told that this was a "promotional rate" with an expiration date. I carefully read the fine print to look for this type of situation. Before renting here, I would recommend asking for a fixed price contract if you know you will need the space for a certain amount of time - otherwise you are at their mercy and they can change the price at any time. I feel like they pulled a "bait and switch" on me. If they want to offer a promotional price for a certain amount of time, that should be stated UP FRONT. They really should inform their customers at signing that the price can change at any time OR offer a contract with a fixed rate for a fixed amount of time. I was never given that option. I feel that the way they do things is borderline unethical and customer service said "there is nothing we can do". I will be moving to a new storage place with no surprise price hikes.

Jill and Larrona were so helpful and made everything so easy when I was making my reservation long distance over the phone. When I arrived, Andrew was very helpful taking me through the reservation process and how to access my unit. And, the price was much more reasonable than other places I called! I would definitely recommend SmartStop Self Storage.

Could not be more pleased with the level of detail and customer service in all my interactions with all the staff. Even got a larger unit and there were so helpful figuring out the best size for me needs. Excellent customer service and very nice people
