BEWARE OF MASSIVE RATE INCREASES WITH LITTLE NOTICE. We first rented a 10x15 space, $155/month. After 3 mos, it jumped to $276/mo. I called and said they ‘gave notice.’ I received no email, it was a tiny postcard they sent in the mail with 6 pt font. 9 mos in, they just sent another notice, rate is increasing to $336/mo. I caught the card this time— I didn’t know you could even send something so small, it’s half the size of a postcard. Emptying it and moving to another storage space before it kicks in… SO ANNOYING.
Amelia CWOw. Really great customer servcie. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate working with (I think John). Unfortunately, the space turned out to be too far afterall for our movers... one of the better customer service interactions I have had in a very long time. It goes a long way.
Wazz spazzRENTER BEWARE. Bait and switch pricing alert! I'm really sad to write this, because the facility is quite nice. I would have written a 4 star review a few months ago. But the business practices of Extra Space are reprehensible. They doubled my rent after a few months, which is apparently something agreed to in the fine print. The new rate is subject to future raises, with whatever they can claim is the market rate (most likely using some AI bullshit). It's built into their business model and there have been class action suits against the company. From what I can tell, those suits have failed because of the nature of contact law in the US and the barely existent consumer protections. We really have no protection from being fleeced at every turn anymore. But we can still try to take our business elsewhere. RENTER BEWARE.
