Gabby was a delight to deal with and a reminder of how great customer experience can be. Friendly, professional, pro-active, accommodating. She followed up, called back and overall did a fantastic job getting me through the process and a storage unit that I needed. Happy to have found that location and likely will be a longer term customer if I have the need for a storage unit. The 1-800 experience with the central office was par for the course and not great but the local contact was superb.

I am very disappointed in the service at Extra Space storage on Altamont Ave in Schenectady. I have been a customer for over 2 years so far. Yesterday, Sunday afternoon, approximately at 3PM. I stop by to access my storage unit. Only to find out that it was completely snowed in and iced over. I called the facility and my call was forwarded to another facility who took my call and said they would have somebody take care of the situation that day. I came back today, Monday,. At 11 AM only to find out the exact same thing--nothing had been done. I went to the office across the street, spoke with the girl working there and she came over to help me. In the meantime, I used a screwdriver and was able to chisel the ice away so that I could open up the unit myself. Extra Space Storage needs to do a better job with the vendors they hire to do their plowing and salting. This whole situation could have been fixed yesterday simply by putting down some rock salt . I'm very upset having to pay the kind of money I pay every month and to not have access to my unit at anytime I need to. This is wrong and Extra Space Storage needs to do a better job, or they will lose business. I have included photos of my unit as well as surrounding units. So you can see how nobody can access their units right now. Do better and make it fight for your customers. Jason Tedford
