After over a year of having our stuff stored here, someone with access to the facility cut the lock off to our unit, then put their own lock on our unit to buy them time and access to our unit while they cleared out THOUSANDS of dollars worth of our things. The manager Megan didn't even know how to go about the situation or how to have handle our concerns when we discovered a lock that wasn't our own in the unit. After speaking to higher ups, according to Megan, Elite themselves take no responsibility for this, and state that you have to contact IPG (The insurance company they REQUIRE you to have a policy with in order to store your things.) for any kind of protection or restitution. They also continued stating that they ONLY HAVE CAMERAS ON THE EXTERIOR OF THE BUILDING. Meaning your things are not secure inside. When we asked them to provide whatever security footage they could provide, they told us that only hang on to that footage for a limited time. Being as your storing things here potentially long term like us, it's a pretty safe bet you won't be back weekly to check on your unit. Meaning they won't have footage unless you happen to be lucky and check on your unit in a timely fashion after something happens. We pay for climate control, and the highest security they could provide, but can't even provide proper surveillance. The insurance that THEY REQUIRE you to have, then stated that the policy doesn't cover larceny, only burglary (I'm sure you can see the problem with that fact.) and that in account of that fact there was no forced sign of entry, that we're simply out of luck. Whatever you do, don't get climate control because there's NO security protecting your poccessions other than a gate code that frankly code be guessed if you can imagine what year someone's child could have been born in. Absolute joke of a facility, do not risk your belongs here.

After having our lock cut by someone, who then replaced it with their own, and then stole thousands of dollars worth of our belongings, at which point we alerted management, filed a police report, asked for security footage (which was never provided and we were never given an answer after asking how long it was stored for) our claim was denied because there were no "signs of forced entry" into our unit, Elite Storage has done absolutely nothing to help make the situation right, and we now can only wonder if it was an actual employee of the company who took our things. The only thing we did wrong was not know there was a difference between larceny and burglary because we, like most people, are not lawyers. We had childhood keepsakes stolen and broken we can never replace taken, on top of things that would now be expensive to replace, and the way Elite Storage has handled this only added insult to an already upsetting situation. PLEASE PROTECT YOURSELF AND THE THINGS YOU SPENT YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON, BECAUSE THEY CLEARLY DO NOT CARE ABOUT PROTECTING THEIR OWN CUSTOMERS OR COMMUNITY. So if you EVER happen to be in this situation, and if you want to file a clam, I suggest you MAKE SURE THERE IS PROOF OF "FORCED ENTRY" AKA DAMAGE TO THE ACTUAL LATCH OR DOOR OF THE STORAGE UNIT. I have included a photo of the letter we received from the insurance company because they extra wanted us to know they wouldn't cover our loss. Thanks guys.

I was behind on my storage two months and was told by Megan, the office manager that unless I provided one month plus a cut lock fee of $25, my items would be auctioned off. I asked for a copy of the locksmith receipt since she had a copy of my key on file, but she refused to provide it. Then added additional charges including a lien fee, which she did not file a lien in court and served to me as REQUIRED by NC law. I asked her to provide proof of additional bogus charges and she ignored my request. My stuff is about to be auctioned off and I will be filing a civil claim for all of my belongings in court that she has sold illegally instead of following proper legal procedures of filing a lien with the clerk of court in Lee county. And apparently she has been doing this as standard business practice with other customers. If I could give a -5 stars I would.

Great folks to work with. Storage units are super clean too! And everything is easy access. I rented 2 10x20 units at one time until I did not need the 2nd unit. For a reasonable price, their folks helped me move items to the 1st unit that were too heavy for me to lift.
