I had our stuff in storage for 5 years with budget. Rented 4 separate units during that time for other things. Never had a problem. Staff, although changed frequently... I never had any issues with them either. Overall it was a good experience.

BEWARE that if you sign a contract with Budget, make sure that you ask before signing and ask them to point out the provision in the contract that they want you to sign that they do not refund any money you've paid to them. I rented a unit for 8 years and for several years, I've paid Budget 2-3 months in advance on my lease. I only recently moved everything out of the unit and replied to an email invoice sent by them to tell them I am out of the unit as of 3/30/25. I did not receive a reply as I thought I could get a refund of the 20 days left on my contract and called and spoke with Miranda who told me she did not receive my email and they do not give refunds. I went back to my contract, after 8 years to find they don't refund your money you paid them. The company will just keep the rest of your money, even though you've vacated the unit, in good condition, nothing personal left behind but the dust on the floor and walls and they can now make additional profit on the unit for renting it out to someone else. I do have to honestly say, my personal items were safe and sound, but again beware, you won't get a credit for the money on the unit that you are no longer using even though you are an 8 year customer, paid the invoices 2-3 months ahead of time to keep them in business!
