We reserved a U-Haul from this location. We received a confirmation call on the reservation date to confirm our pick up time. So far, so good. We arrived at the scheduled time and we were greeted by an offsite person on a screen who helped us finalize the process using our smartphone. Not convenient, but it’s 2025–so we went with it. When it came time to get the physical keys, our offsite customer service person could not reach anyone on site. After wasting 35 minutes in the lobby, we were told we would have to pick up our truck another 30 minutes away in Hardeeville off I-95. Not because our truck wasn’t available, but because nobody was available to give us the keys at the time and place we had reserved. Here’s the great part. We drove another 30 minutes out to Hardeeville all while on a time crunch. When we arrived, we found the other location U-Haul had sent us to was closed. When we called U-Haul, they wanted us to start the online reservation process over again for the *closed* location. No follow up, no customer assistance from Midgard or U-Haul. No phone call to say, “Hey we’re so sorry we wasted your day, let’s get this fixed.” We were able to find a person to help us rent a truck elsewhere and insult to injury, we were now responsible for paying the additional mileage for renting a truck 20 miles from our location. Had there even been a modicum of customer service or follow through to make this process even the slightest bit easier for us as customers, I wouldn’t write this review. Midgard dropped the ball here. U-Haul picked up the ball and punted it into the trees. Neither did anything to assist, leaving us out time and money—avoid.

This facility deserves less than one star. Christian is never anywhere to be found, the new lady doesn’t know anything. This storage facility is infested with rats and droppings. When asking about the health hazard we were given the run around. Thousands of dollars worth of valuables all damaged! Do not store your stuff here! Pictures posted as well!

Opened up my storage unit to a rat infestation. Manager on site had no idea how to help. According to the manager they only know how to help with uhaul. The other manager, Christian, was supposed to show up but never did, ended up calling out the rest of the day. Virtual manager wasn’t helpful either. There’s a dead rat inside our storage unit full of rat feces and rat urine. I highly doubt its going to be cleaned out. If you have a storage unit at Midgard please take all of your stuff out before the whole building has to get shut down. And if you are planning on renting a unit don’t! Save yourself the headache and loss of items.

I recently rented a storage unit from Midgard Self Storage. I was able to do the entire process from my phone. So easy and convenient. Excellent facility as well. Gated and secure. Impeccably clean, easy to load and unload whatever you need to store.
