I originally rented my unit when this location was LifeStorage, and everything was great. It was clean, well-maintained, and easily accessible. I specifically chose a basement unit because you could drive around the back of the building to access it directly. My unit was close to the doors, and at that time, the facility was immaculate. A couple of months later, MyPlace Storage took over, and things went downhill quickly. Two months after their takeover (and right after my prepaid four-month period ended), they doubled my rent. I paid it and moved on, assuming it was just part of the transition. When I finally returned to my unit to retrieve my holiday decor on October 10th, I was shocked. The basement doors were locked with a handwritten sign saying “Please use 1st Floor Doors.” The office was closed with a note stating it was closed “for the foreseeable future,” with only a phone number for payments. Even the payment dropbox was taped shut. There had been no communication whatsoever about the closure or loss of basement access. Inside my unit, I found numerous dead millipedes, and it was warmer and more humid inside than outside. The facility itself has been neglected. When I returned on October 14th to pick up more of my belongings, nothing had changed. The basement doors were still locked, and the office still unmanned. I decided to move out, but there was no one to provide notice to. I went back to complete my move-out today and my disappointment was amplified. The light cover in the elevator had fallen down and was just propped up in the elevator, which felt unsafe and unprofessional. On top of everything else, when unstacking 3 large storage bins, I discovered a dead, desiccated mouse and mouse droppings stuck to the lid of one of my bins. This is an absolutely unacceptable sanitation issue in a facility where people are paying to store their belongings. I’ve now completely moved out, but there’s no way to reach anyone to confirm or request a refund for the fees that I paid in advance. The office remains closed, and I have been unable to find any phone numbers on the website other than the phone number to the currently unmanned office. I have submitted a request for someone to contact me through the "Contact Us" form, but I suspect that that will be routed to the office as well. This facility has become unsanitary, inaccessible, and unresponsive under MyPlace Storage’s management. I would strongly recommend avoiding this location until serious issues are addressed.
Lots of space, more than anticipated (w/ 10x15) with the ceiling height. Nice and clean, well kept. The customer service was very friendly and helpful in getting started. Love that the provided a custom lock to your unit. Even though we only used it a short time, it was nothing but convenient to our needs.
Good morning when I first Walked into my place self storage. Elizabeth was wonderful and helped me set up my new storage facility. It’s very convenient very close to my house. Very glad I chose my place.
Like most others recently I have tried to reach someone to remove the double insurance coverage I have for my items via my homeowners policy. Multiple emails unanswered, phone tree never lets you leave a message, same taped notice about no onsite personnel. I used to use ExtraSpace storage nearby and they are 1000% more responsive and have real human beings, not feedback forms and phone trees to keep you at bay. This place is a classic example of "you get what you pay for" - sure the cost is low - but if you need anything at all for assistance or assurance you're out of luck. If anythign went wrong here I have little confidence it would be addressed or even acknowledged without resorting to a lawsuit.
Completely non-responsive. They closed down the office "until further notice" and are not answering phone calls or emails. I've been trying for 3 weeks to get in touch with someone to close my account as I have removed all of my belongings. Today they send me a bill for another month even though I've requested my account be closed for weeks now. Be warned that if you sign up for a unit at this place you may never be able to get rid of it.
