Where to start with this business. I was a renter when Red Dot Storage became Devon Self Storage. My negative experience started when I started getting an insurance charge on my monthly bill. I provided my homeowners insurance that was already provided with the renters agreement. They finally removed the charges after sending numerous times that of course overlapped into another billing cycle. When asked about a refund of those charges, it was made clear there would be NO refund. Mostly by ignoring my inquiries. I should mention this insurance charge has happened multiple times, so I had to go through their BS again and again, never getting a refund for their BS charges. It's a ploy they vail in "Oh... your policy on file is expired" only after you hopefully catch the charges and inquire about it. You have got to watch those autopays. I get it, the policy they had on file is expired, but a no notice, let's charge them for our tenant insurance and hope they pay is shady in my opinion. The latest has been a string of rate increases, two to be exact in the last 7 months, on a property that is in my opinion poorly managed and falling apart. Fascia trim falling off rotten boards. Tree debris all over the property that finds its way into the units along with pests under poorly sealed doors. Minimal cameras on property that may or may not work. I could go on here. There was also an instance I needed to get to my unit to retrieve something. The gate was inoperable. I finally got ahold of someone, not local management mind you, only to to be told that they will have someone local look into it, so check again in a couple days. Ummm.... okay. I could not get out of that place fast enough. For the money they are demanding, there is no longer value in renting here. Do yourself and your property a favor and look elsewhere. Update 1/23/2026: Since Devon Self Storage responded to my review, I called the number to see if they truly wanted to resolve the charges I received by offering a refund. The first call, Hector hung up on me trying to explain the issues. I called again and the second person stated they would pass this information off and someone would get back to me. Update 1/26/2026: I haven't received a call back as stated. This is generally how my experience has been with this company. Update 2/4/2026: I still haven't received the callback. I think it is safe to say that I won't because they really didn't want to resolve my issues of overcharges for that tenant rent. My statement stands, find another place that is fairly priced and well maintained because this place is not that.
