Public Storage - Bastrop - 510 State Hwy 71

Rented 2 units went to move out and saw all this debris in my unit that was not mine. There is a structural issue with this facility as there is a 2 foot gap between units. They auctioned off The items in the unit next to me and whatever those people did not want they shoved through the gap that landed on my stuff. This damaged a piece of art by crushing it, which is costing me $750 to repair. Not too mention All the debris that my Movers had to work around. Sent pictures and an email to the area manager who basically said they were not responsible, then who is responsible? When I asked for a contact for corporate, he told me they would just send it back to him. Not very good customer service on this end. I moved my items to another CubeSmart in Houston and their facility is not built like this one. They may be have a 2 inch gap. The fault lies with this Bastrop facility. It was disgusting in there.

i’m doing with the space so we’ll see what happens down the road but my first visit was great. Zachary who was taken care of everything was very accommodating. When I called for a issue. He responded right away and that’s the way business should be run. Good job Zachary.

It was Cube Smart when we got a storage unit, Cube Smart did well by us. However, Public Storage only has 2 people that work on every site. The property manager Melissa says that during business hours someone is always on site, then today 12-22-25 nobody is on site at 9am. She also said we had to contact corporate to add our military status, which when I called says I have to schedule am appointment with the property manager. We have been switched to Public Storage for 1 month and a lock has been placed on my unit twice and the account is in good standing and we cannot get into it. I DO NOT recommend getting a storage unit with Public Storage, absolute worst business model and ZERO on site communication between the only 2 people that work there.

I rented a unit from Melissa in Bastrop. She is the property manager and rightfully so. She was polite, helpful, and reassuring. I feel confident in my choice to use this facility, and I look forward to moving my items in.
