La Marque Mini Storage

We rented a storage unit sometime in January 2023 at LaMarque Mini Storage. Connor provided the paperwork for the lease, set up the auto-pay and assigned us a unit. Checking the location of the unit we found the latch was frozen so Connor moved us to another unit, no problem. March 3rd we stopped by to check on our belongings because the facility is not climate controlled. Much to our surprise we found a second lock on our unit. A note on the office door indicated they would return in 20 minutes so we waited, we waited an hour. I called several times finally reaching Jennifer, the owner's daughter, explained our confusion over being locked out & after multiple phone calls back and forth we finally learned that the first day when we had to switch units the payment information wasn't transferred to the new unit. They never contacted us to let us know we owed them money and to make matters worse they wanted the full $180.00 before removing the lock, all told; we were detained for 2.5 hours, neither Connor nor Jennifer offered an apology for the massive inconvenience, not to mention treating us like criminals. On April 17th my sister asked us to move our furniture into her home she's selling as she has already moved and needed furniture to stage the house. We moved the furniture, Connor checked the unit and approved the condition. I noticed that April's rent drafted on the 10th so I requested April's rent to be prorated and refund of the remainder but, was told no. I do not recommend this business. They are very unprofessional, lax hours of operation, poor customer service skills & really could not care less.
