This is my first time writing a negative review. I rented a unit at this facility for nearly three years and had a very disappointing experience. The facility is poorly maintained. Hallways are dirty, unit doors barely function, and the main gate was broken and left unfixed, leaving the property unsecured. There is often no on-site staff available, and it is extremely difficult to reach anyone when issues arise. Rent increases were excessive and poorly communicated. My unit started around $120 per month and increased multiple times, eventually reaching over $230 per month with little notice, despite declining conditions. I also discovered that mothballs (naphthalene) are used throughout the facility without any disclosure. The odor is overwhelming, and my stored belongings were saturated with the smell. Several valuable wool rugs stored there were severely damaged and became unsalvageable. When I raised concerns, management denied any issues and provided no meaningful assistance. After experiencing property damage and potential health concerns, I attempted to contact insurance and management and did not receive a return call. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this facility, especially for storing textiles, furniture, or valuable items.

I never write reviews and especially as a business owner I know it’s impossible to please everyone. But this place is the worst. Spare yourself and don’t even think about renting here. They are all holy jolly ready to help when you want to rent a unit. But you want to cancel your unit? Forget it. You will never get in contact with anyone and they will keep charging you. Not to mention a million other things including not fixing the gate that has been broken for close to a year at this point leaving access for anyone to drive right in. Spare yourself the trouble.

Renter beware. Do not fall behind. They will not work with you, no matter what the circumstances may be. They will not entertain partial payments, they charge exorbitant amount of fees, rent is constantly increasing, and they have no sympathy or interest in helping long-term renters when they fall on hard times. Please keep this in mind before proceeding. The online advertised rates increase quickly. I have used privately owned facilities in the past and the owners were gracious and worked with me when times were tight. I highly suggest looking into a smaller outfit if you are on any kind of budget or if customer service is important to you. The day after Christmas and I'm completely destitute giving them close to $600--they refused to allow me to make two $300 payments over 14 days.

The process to purchase the unit was very easy and convenient. However, when I went to the unit, it was zip tied. I have been to the office and there is never anyone there and calling customer service doesn't give you a live person. I'm considering cancelling my unit and moving to a different location.

Worse than terrible customer service. It has been impossible to get the access code to our newly assigned storage unit at the Mosby property in Chantilly VA. It was left blank on the introduction letter (see pic 1) sent after signing the contract. There is no staff on site as the office has been abandoned and there is a hand written note saying that you need to go to another satellite location for service. The main gate is broken and open 24-7 so that code is useless. I’ve called 3 times to the number on the contract only to be routed to a call center in India that says that I have to resolve the issue with the local office, and patched me through only to wind up in voice mail. None of my messages have yet to be returned. I subsequently found out that the local office is closed on Sundays and Tuesdays, but that information was not in the contract nor introduction letter. I also have tried unsuccessfully to submit my proof of insurance to avoid the 40% up charge, but have yet to receive confirmation of receipt of my emails on that issue. Update: Management asked me to reach out in response to this posting, so I did on 06/16/25, and guess what happened? NOTHING, NADA, ZILCH … still waiting for a response…. If I could assign a ZERO star, I would, but I’ll give 1 star to make this post and confirm that the storage unit actually exists. But beware of cheap, self storage as it means exactly what it says: you are on your own! You will be charged for insurance, which effectively doubles the cheap introductory rate, even if you are already covered under your homeowner/renter/RV policy. The agent on the phone will promise that you will be reimbursed upon presentation of your insurance coverage to the site manager. The site manager will deny that. The site manager’s supervisor will also deny that and say that the sales agent shouldn’t have told you that there was a refund policy. Don’t bother calling as all calls to all their listed numbers go to an overseas call center who will refer you back to the site manager. So go in person, and don’t let them entrap you in their insurance scheme.
